So far Thigpen and the spread offense has been very effective. Thigpen has connected with Dwayne Bowe on a six yard touchdown.

The Saints scored their touchdown on a Duece McCallister 'Marcus Allen' over-the-top goal line carry.

The second half just started, the Chiefs are only down by 3, and so far the offense is looking pretty good. But somehow I am already getting that you-haven't-eaten-all-day-and-am getting-queasy. The feeling that Chiefs will give another one away.

Of course......as I write this.....Brees completed a bomb to Moore for a 47 yard touchdown. Chiefs were in a cover-two but there was absolutely NO coverage on Moore.....blown coverage most likely on Carr's side of the field.

2nd and 1. Handoff to Thomas gain of 17 yards.

Screen to Thomas....Boone had him lined-up for a loss. Thomas breaks 2 tackles to take the ball to the KC 1 yard line. Next play handoff again to Thomas.....touchdown.

That queasy feeling I was talking about earleir was watching the Chiefs defense in the second half of any game. It is iinevitable that the Chiefs will play strongly in the first half sometimes gaining a lead in the first half only to watch the defense kidney punch their fans by allowing any offense to move the ball at will on them.

4th and 3. Thigpen......quarterback draw!!! Thigpen flies down the field for a gain of 25 with horse-collar call. 1st down.

2nd and goal on the Saints 5 yard line. Thigpen again throws it up for grabs in the corner of the end zone to Bowe......Bowe jumps over the top to of the CB for another sweet grab.....touchdown.

I feel like we've taken the Delorean back in time to the Dick Vermeil days. We can score at will but it looks like we only have 8 men on defense at all times.

What do you know.....as I am running my mouth, the Chiefs make a stop. Saints will punt.

Chiefs ball. 3rd and 10 on the KC 27. Thigpen in shotgun......draw to Jamaal Charles.....he makes one guy miss.....for a gain of 12 for a first down. Gutsy call.

3rd and 2....Thigpen hits Bradley right in the chest....incomplete after he drops it....Chiefs elect to not go for it and punt. Saints ball on their own 12 yard line.

Back to back plays....first Brees complete to Colston for a gain of 13. Next play handoff to Thomas for a gain of 13. All the Chiefs need is one more stop out of the defense. However, all I can see in the future is another kidney punch.

Note: The Chiefs have the #32 ranked rushing defense in the league. And the Chiefs only have 6 sacks on the season.....TOTAL. Why isn't anyone talking about firing Gunther Cunningham?

1st and 10....Brees has all day to throw it....complete to Shockey first down on the KC 26 yard line.

3rd and 1. Brees to Moore complete but doesn't get the first down. Saints will attempt FG....35 yard attempt......good.

Thigpen scrambles.....and throws an interception. That's the game. with 2:08 left in the game.

Note: Thigpen threw his first interception in his last 162 attempts.

3rd and 5,.....Brees complete to Moore......no Chief within 10 yards of him.

Game Over.....another combination of kidney punches delivered by the Chiefs defense to my back. Another painful loss. Saints will move to 5-5 and the Chiefs to 1-9.
