A new era In K.C. - GM Peterson resigns
By: SCUBA

I like to think it was because of
my latest blog
that the Hunt family finally cut ties with Carl. In typical J.D. (John
Dorian) fashion I sit and imagine Clark Hunt, owner of the Chiefs,
sitting at his computer and reading my blog and saying, "You know
what....this guy's right. Yesterday's loss WAS too much for any one fan
to stomach,
off with 'King' Carl's head let's gently show Carl the door."
Something tells me that it was probably a little more than that which
caused Peterson to hand in his walking papers. Something tells me that
Carl Peterson, GM and CEO of the Kansas City Chief's resignation was
inevitable and the Chargers loss was the straw that broke the camel's
back.
Carl Peterson will officially resign at the end of this season. It's official. An era has ended.
Peterson was hired in 1988 and had spent the last two decades building
an AFC force in the '90's but failed to accomplish the ultimate goal -
the Super Bowl.
Head coach Herm Edwards maybe the next casualty of possibly the worst
Chiefs season ever. It will be up to the new GM to determine Herm's
future with the Chiefs.
Chief's nation will most likely throw popular names out there for their
pick of the next GM and/or head coach....Bill Cowher, Jimmy Johnson,
Mike Holmgren. It's just too soon to tell.
All I know is that for the first time all season I have the thoughts of
a fan with a team on-the-rise. A new GM, maybe a new coach, a franchise
QB in the draft, and a new Chiefs era are all on the fans Christmas
wish list.
It may have taken the owner to do it, but for the first time all season the fans have something to smile about.
