It has been speculated for a few weeks now and today it's official -
Scott Pioli, previous VP of player personnel in New England, is now
running the show in Kansas City.
After a hush-hush meeting last week with Denny Thum and Chief's
chairman Clark Hunt, Pioli has agreed to terms to be the leader of the
organization. The terms of the agreement have not been made public as
of yet.
What does this mean for Herm Edwards? Most likely it means the end of his time in Arrowhead. According to
ESPN.com, the one of Pioli's top candidates as Herm's successor is New York Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo.
Even though it was the worst year of Chiefs football ever, I for one,
am going to miss Herm Edwards. One of the things I will never forget
about the year is someone calling the Chiefs the
pee-wee-herman's....maybe the greatest team-nickname ever.
However, like all things, it must come to an end.....
