Chiefs continue to clean house: 5 coaches fired
By: SCUBA

Chief's GM Scott Pioli continued to put his stamp on this organization friday night by firing five assistant coaches.
The five coaches walking the plank were Curtis Modkins (running back), Jon Embree (tight ends), Eric Price (wide receivers), and Mike Ketchum as well as kevin Patullo who were both quality control coaches.
In the meantime offensive coordinator Chan Gailey continues to still be employed by the new look Chiefs. However, as reported by the
Kansas City Star, it is unclear whether or not Gailey and the remaining coaches will be making that trip to River Falls, WI for training camp.
Herm Edwards staff that had the foresight of seeing the 'writing on the wall' have already departed the team for other jobs. Defensive coordinator Gunther Cunningham took the same position in Detroit. Quarterbacks coach Dick Curl left for the Rams. Secondary coach David Gibbs left for the Texans, and special teams coach Mike Priefer went to the Broncos.
According to
Adam Teicher, "various reports have the Chiefs speaking with former New Orleans defensive coordinator Gary Gibbs".
Jim Haslett has been speculated by the Star's
Jason Whitlock as being a good fit as the next defensive coordinator for the Chiefs. However, much like everything else so far in the short Pioli reign, we won't know of any organizational moves until it has already happened.
