Romeo Crennel next D. Coordinator in KC?
The reason the Chiefs haven't announced a defensive coordinator yet is because they are waiting on Romeo.

Since Chief's GM Scott Pioli hired Cardinals ex-defensive coordinators Clancy Pendergast and the Saints ex-defensive coordinator Gary Gibb, no decision has been made on who will be the Chief's defensive coordinator in 2009.  Either one of these coaches have the qualifications to be the D. Coordinator.

Still, question marks have been raised in Kansas City.  Its been 2 weeks and still no decision has been made on who head coach Haley and Pioli want to recuperate the league's 31st ranked defense.

The reason for is most likely due to the Chiefs offering the job to Romeo Crennel.  Crennel was the Browns head coach until he was relinquished of his role as head coach at the end of last season.  Currently, Crennel is still part of the team, but in no set role.

Eric Mangini was hired as the Browns new head coach last month.

According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the Chiefs are waiting on an answer from Crennel to accept the position, which would explain why nobody has been named the defensive coordinator.

Crennel is recovering from a hip replacement surgery, and will most likely determine the rehab time for full recovery before giving the Chiefs an answer.
