Chiefs Looking To Release Larry Johnson?
By: SCUBA

The contract extension Chiefs' running back, Larry Johnson signed in August of 2007 may have hit a snag.
According to the
KC Star, the Chiefs are fighting to retain the $3.75 million of guaranteed dollars Johnson's contract asked for.
This case for this disagreement between the two sides has been brought in front of a "special master". And no...it's not this "special master":
(Yep, it's friday and I had to find a way to get a scene in from my favorite 80's martial arts flick- The Last Dragon)
Note - that the person that is mediating this issue of money really is referred to as a "special master"....nice.
The Chiefs organization is claiming that the team shouldn't have to pay Johnson due to a breach of contract. They are claiming the breach is from Johnson's
one-game suspension stemming from physical abuse to a female in a bar.
Regardless, of the outcome I can't see the Chiefs wanting to keep a guy where they were trying to keep $3.75 million of guaranteed money. Nor can I imagine, Larry Johnson of all people, wanting to stay with a team that is trying to keep part of the money that was originally agreed to be payed to him.
