It's finally over, Favre will stay retired

The debacle is over....finally. Brett Favre is staying retired.
Vikings head coach Brad Childress reported to the Minneapolis Star Tribune that Brett Favre has informed him that he will remain retired.
Favre went on to tell
ESPN's Ed Werder a better explanation of why he is not coming back.
"It was the hardest decision I've ever made,'' Favre said. "I didn't feel like physically I could play at a level that was acceptable. I would like to thank everyone, including the Packers, Jets and Vikings -- but, most importantly, the fans."
Favre has been notorious for changing his mind, so nothing is final until week 1 comes and Favre isn't on the field. However, this announcement is about as official as it will get until then.
Favre went on to say, "I had to be careful not to commit for the wrong reasons,'' Favre said. "They were telling me, 'You went through all this, you had the surgery and you've got to finish it off.' But I have legitimate reasons for my decision. I'm 39 with a lot of sacks to my name."
Favre had the arthroscopic surgery to repair a partially torn bicep tendon in his throwing shoulder. This injury in combination with his ankles and knee were just too much for him to overcome mentally and physically to continue through another grueling 16 game season.
Vikings fans, who have been abused over the past 3 months with the thoughts of a Super Bowl led by Brett Favre, will have to come to grips with Tarvaris Jackson being their starter come week 1.
