In order to get the Chiefs to the magic number of 53, a few casualties had to occur.  Some casualties were expected, some came as a bit of a shock.  Here is a list of the guys asked to hand in their playbooks:

WR Ashley Lelie, CB Jackie Bates, WR Rodney Wright, TE Tom Crabtree, DE Dion Gales, DE Bobby Greenwood, G Darryl Harris, WR Taurus Johnson, DT Derek Lokey, S Bernard Pollard, S Ricky Price, LB Zach Thomas, RB Javarris Williams, and RT Damion McIntosh.

Thomas and Lelie were a bit of a surprise because Haley and Pioli searched them out and signed them within the past few months.

I was blindsided by the Pollard and McIntosh axing considering both have been starters over the past few years.  Heck, I thought Pollard would be given a free pass considering he is the man responsible for bringing Cassel to the Chiefs.
