According to the Chiefs first round pick, Eric Berry and fifth overall pick in the 2010 NFL draft, "the deals done" via his
twitter page.
The deal is said to make Berry the highest paid safety in NFL history, with a six-year deal, $60 million max contract. $34 million will be guaranteed according to NFL.com's
Jason LaCanfora.
Berry is now on his way to St. Joseph to join the rest of the team for the beginning of training camp.
Without stepping foot onto an NFL field, Berry might already be the Chiefs' best defensive player.
The Chiefs desperately need more playmakers on the defensive side of the ball. Considering, the team had the 30th ranked defense in the NFL in 2009, Berry will be a welcome addition to a poor defensive secondary.
