RE: Favre agrees to terms with Vikings
I'm still not convinced. I want to be convinced...I'm just not yet.
RE: Why does Blade Trinity suck?
Well you see, right after they rise up from the dead, they are quickly shuttled off to a dark dungeoun where a thousand year old kung fu master starves them of blood until they learn more movie than Neo did in the first Matix. Finally they are released. Who is this Kung Fu master? Some say Chuck Norris, while others say its Bruce Lee resurrected as a vampire....seriously though, that is a very good question.
RE: Derrick Mason Calls-It-Quits
This isn't like a Jordan or Favre retirement is it? I mean really, what do athletes have to do after they retire? Become awkward hosts of ESPN segments? I'd play a few more seasons while I still could.
RE: Ben Roethlisberger Accused of Sexual Assault
whats with the lawyer statement saying "especially Anrea McNulty"? Is he saying well Ben has considered sexually assaulting some woman in the best but definitly not Anrea, she is way below his standards." Also Scuba, I enjoy that sweet new logo you have...its way better than the old one "wink, wink".
RE: The Lebron-gets-dunked-on video.....well sort of...
this is more anticlimactic than....well than anything. I wish I wouldn't have watched it. It was much more amazing in my mind.
RE: Timothy Watches the Watchmen
I do love Kill Bill and it is important that people view them as one movie becuase I know people who didn't really care for 1 but loved 2. That is because Volume 2 completes the 1st. Volume 1 is the hook, the set up, the flash and bang if you would. Volume 2 however, is the heart and soul. The relationship between the bride and Bill is revealed. The villains are humanized to a degree ( I find Budd incredibly sympathetic) and a major foil is throw into Beatrix's plan (her child). They are utterly fantastic and yet...defining film of the decade? That's just such a huge claim. What about Lord of the Rings...or even Dark Knight which found such an incredible balance between popcorn blockbuster and legitimately deep story and thought out story? Still, top ten? I could see that. This might have to be a post coming up.
RE: Gee I just saw GI Joe! (worst blog title ever!)
I appreciate the candid response dale and your willingness to be open about Transformer's flaws despite your love for it (I feel the same way).
RE: Sleeping Beauties
If I had a fantasy team, this is pretty much all the guys i would probably end up drafting and then everyone would hate me because I would destroy them with a second hand team. Sadly, I do not have a fantasy team. And seriously, you never even saw Sleeping Beauty when you were really really little?
RE: New TYSON Movie
I really want to see this and I wasn't ever really a Mike Tyson fan.
RE: Vikings desperation has many faces
If sounds like you've never been a huge Favre fan. Personally I wrote him off his second to last season with the Packers and then he showed up the following year and proved why he hadn't retired yet. Honestly, he should have retired after that season (even if he did miss the Super Bowl win). But after last years mediocre season he probably wants to prove himself again and who knows, maybe Favre does still have what it takes.
RE: Greatest (and Manliest) Action Movie Ever in the Works!?
When have you ever taken these guys seriously (outside of Stallone in Rocky and perhaps in First Blood)? The point is to make a straight up 80's or 90's style action movie like Commando, Predator, Rambo 2 or 3, and Cobra. You people need to lighten up. I think at the very worst, it will be on the level of the latest Rambo which in my opinion, isn't bad at all.
RE: Random musings on sports and other subjects
I'd consider putting GI Joe above Terminator but I enjoyed both. Also, I too find baseball to be boring. It scares me that those games can go on forever without going into extra innings.
RE: District 9: Proof that We Will Never Have a Good Video Game Movie?
It is very true that Sci Fi has probably benefited the most from Cg since any written out description can be created. As for Resident Evil, I enjoy the film series but I wouldn't call it great cinema, especially compared to zombie movies like 28 days later or Dawn of the Dead. Personally, I think Mortal Kombat is my favorite vg movie, though its pretty cheesy.
RE: Should the NFL get rid of Cheerleaders?
I think the girl at the front of your picture there is proof that they shouldn't be done away with. Seriously speaking, cheerleaders are a part of the sport, a tradition if you would. Honestly, I don't see the harm. You barely even see them. As far as degrading? The commercials that take place during games are far more "degrading" (though quite often hilarious.
RE: Fantasy Fun in Week 1
I'd leave a legit comment but..well, I'm not in a fantasy league. Sad day.
RE: "I suck at fantasy football"
So is this a personal song from your perspective?
RE: Your favorite NFL team on your IPOD
Great site. Everyone (EVERYONE) should check it out!
RE: Where does your team rank on Forbes 'List of Most Valuable NFL Teams'?
I jokingly guessed the vikings would be last....didn't realize I would be so close.
RE: Time Traveling Today: Brett Favre
Brilliant. I really don't mind Favre at all, but still, you pretty much owned him for life here.
RE: Raiders at Chiefs Live Blog
Wow, I don't think I've seen this much punting in a game since my Trinity days. Granted, at Trinity we were always doing the punting because we never got first downs. Too bad for your Chiefs.
RE: What You Should Strongly Consider Watching Right Now (and what you should avoid)
So do you not like Kung Fu movies either or just random karate appearances?
RE: What You Should Strongly Consider Watching Right Now (and what you should avoid)
Listen Tony, if you would have read the opening carefully, I'm talking solely about movies that just came out this past weekend and movies that are coming out this weekend. Since I just started this week, that leaves some previous movies out of the loop. Yes I'm sure Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs is as hilarious as everyone says it is. I loved the book as a child. But it came out like 2 weeks ago.
RE: Week 3: What Could Have Been...
I pity the fool who has Jake Delhomme, the caster of interceptions...
RE: Time Traveling Today: Mike Vick
Dang a bit harsh here. Also, is it weird that I find your dinosaur explanation more believable than others?
RE: The G-Man is here!
Welcome to the neighborhood...though I find describing your own age as mid-to-late 20's kind of odd and hilarious.
RE: NFL Week 4: Lock 'Em & Sock 'Em
Looks like 3 for 3. Not bad man, not bad.
RE: What You Should Strongly Consider Watching (Oct 6, 2009)
She wouldn't like a sports movie?
RE: What happens when you lose to the Chiefs?
Is it too soon to call the Redskins the new Detroit Lions?
RE: Time Traveling Today: Kyle Orton
Whatever, the Greek army would have far too much respect for Achilles to fight against him. Plus, if this trade happened before Achilles killed Hector that would mean the Trojans would be equipped with the two greatest fighters in existence. Finally (once again, if Hector was alive), Hector was a tactical genius and far too smart to be duped by the Trojan horse. That thing would have never gotten in the walls had he still been around.
RE: Sammy goes MJ and we owe a couple of teams a big Thank you.
Definitly thought that was some weird Sosa lookalike till I read the article. Maybe someone should tell Sammy that Mark McGuire beat him in the home run race because of steroids, not because he was white...
RE: UT players threaten to put your eye out, Lebron's jersey thoughts, and more.
...I think Pineapple Express is hilarious personally, though I do respect the shout out to Fletch. If only Chevy Chase's career hadn't died. Either way I get your point. Also, number 4 is dumb on so many levels. Who's to say he was even doing to the Captain pose. Maybe he was just stretching his groin.
RE: What You Should Strongly Consider Watching: Vampires, Wolves, and Bad Lieutenants
I have to say at the very least, I think girls obsessing over Twilight is better than them obsessing over the everyday chick flick that is identical to all other chick flicks before it. Twilight is over-dramatic and down right embarrassing at times, but at least it strives for some sort of purpose.
RE: What You Should Strongly Consider Watching: Vampires, Wolves, and Bad Lieutenants
I'm telling you guys, Bad Lieutenant is supposed to be really good!
RE: Director's Cuts: Sometimes They are the Only Way to Go
Ahhh alternate endings...those could be a topic all on their own (wink, wink)
RE: Director's Cuts: Sometimes They are the Only Way to Go
What is especially sad is the movie was cut literally right before it was released. What a kick in the shorts. It serves the studio right that it was received poorly. One of the producers thought it was crazy to think people would want to see a long movie. Does he know how much the Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter movies have made?
RE: NFL Thanksgiving Brings A Fantasy Feast

I realize the games are passed, I just want to compliment the baller picture.

RE: Go Danica! Can Danica Patrick Revive NASCAR?
I feel she is just continueing to prove herself as the Anna Kornicova of racing...except Danica actually has some signs of a personality.
RE: Sick of the Tragedy of Tiger Woods? Go Out and Watch a Movie!
Invictus is already out. Came out this past weekend.
RE: The Yankees get richer with Vazquez, Farve and Childress saga continues, & Vick wins award for "courage"
Gosh I wanted the Sega channel when I was young. It was so far ahead of its time. And yes, the Yankees money is ridiculous which is why I have no respect for them.
RE: Daybreakers: A Real Vampire Movie with More Vampires than You Can Shake a Cross At!
I would agree that after watching season 2 of Buffy again, the relationship between Edward and Bella is eerily similar to Angel and Buffy's (though not near as strong or justifiable)
RE: Daybreakers: A Real Vampire Movie with More Vampires than You Can Shake a Cross At!
Sorry, there Jim, can't believe I forgot to mention that. No, they don't know Karate per se, but they are pretty handy with these tranq guns they have. Otherwise, the humans seem to be slightly better fighters with their crossbows and stakes.
RE: The Pro Bowl Sucks
The Pro Bowl is like Communism. It sounds great, but no one is actually going to try because there is no benefit to trying.
RE: Lost Theories Trying To Explain The Questions With Answers
I don't feel like you made guesses as much as you just recapped what happened...
RE: The Who Leaves The Super Bowl Halftime Show Wanting Sexy Back
Well...the Who is more like 60's and 70's but I get your point...
RE: Does Avatar Really Deserve $2 Billion? Does it Really Deserve the Oscar for Best Picture.
I apologize for the typos. Never was very consistent at proof reading my stuff (it is a blog after all). And I agree completely that the Blind Side doesn't deserve Best Picture, but its only on there because the nominees were extended to 10 (which is something I might give an entirely separate post for. Avatar has a legitimate shot at winning. I'm not sure it should. I feel that by the end of my post I agreed that Avatar has maybe earned its $2 Billion. I'm more so baffled at the fact that its this movie that did it and not something like The Dark Knight or Iron Man or other recent blockbusters (outside of the 3-D). Maybe I came off overly negative. As far as entertaining me for the full 2:40, I'm not sure it did. It lost me here and there a few times. But hey, thanks for the comments.
RE: Does Avatar Really Deserve $2 Billion? Does it Really Deserve the Oscar for Best Picture.
To TM,

You are completely right on the title. I mostly put the deserve in there to attract attention. You caught me...congrats!

As far as Star Trek, I've watched the original movies ever since I was a kid. I was a big fan of them going into the new one which is part of the reason I liked it so much. Still, I can understand how that could have the opposite effect.
RE: And The 2010 Super Bowl Commercial Award Goes To....
I'm a bit shocked Steve, no Shutter Island mentioned. Also, how could you not include the auto-tune Bud Light commercial. Hilarious.

RE: Brett Favre Coming Back Next Season?
You know Scuba, its funny, with that intro you were giving there I thought you were referring to Favre joining your very own Chiefs. Then again, I suppose they one 4 games...not 5.

As for Favre, it seems to be a case of damned if you do, damned if you don't. Why couldn't they just have gone to the super bowl this year and been done with it.
RE: Welcome to the Brain Trust!
Welcome to Thunderdome friend-o.
RE: The New Twilight: Eclipse Trailer and A New Moon Reflection
oh and was just reading some comments on youtube about this new trailer which I found quite hilarious:

-Genre: Horror? Seriously? The scariest thing is her acting...

- Army of vampires???? It looks more? like a My Chemical Romance fan club.

- If the sun comes out during the battle, the glitter will be too much for the theatre. Everyone will come out blind.

...after this, at least half of the comments simply said "fake and gay", including one written in spanish. Clearly internet posters aren't the most intelligent (or politically correct), but at least they're...consistent?
RE: Dwight drops some coin on fines, Eminem calls out Ben, and The Back Porch podcast!
I loved Roethlisberger being in Eminem's song. And its pretty impressive on Shady's part. that's a long name to fit into rhymed verse.
RE: Iron Man 2: So Nice, I Saw it Twice
Oh Steve that disappoints me greatly. He directed Made, Elf, Iron Man 1, and...Zuthura. The last one's not so important, not that its terrible.
RE: Inception: Cooler than Iron Man, More Epic than Robin Hood! (New Trailer Included)
well that's embarrassing....I do have a tendency to not proof read. Problem fixed!
RE: Psychology of Sports: Does Music Make A Difference?
vomit on his sweater already....mom's spaghetti!
RE: Who Is The Best Running Back Ever In The NFL? Walter Payton
Smash Williams would be the greatest running back of all time....if he were real.
RE: Who Is The Best Wide Receiver Ever In The NFL? Jerry Rice
I would say this one is darn near indisputable. My most cherished football card as a child was a Jerry Rice card. Still have it....somewhere.

Also, nice new banner. That is sick nasty.
RE: New Mortal Kombat Movie? What is Mortal Kombat Rebirth?
spelling? yes, I often don't take the time to proof read (it is a blog). Sentence structure? I assure you, I know the proper way. I simply choose otherwise. It's my style I suppose. I like to write how I think things rather than how they should be. Truth be told, this article is a bit more chaotic than most.
RE: New Mortal Kombat Movie? What is Mortal Kombat Rebirth?
Okay, correction Jon, after a quick read through this is without a doubt the sloppiest post I've ever had on my site. I apologize and fixed a lot of the major errors. I was in a hurry to finish this post before I took off somewhere and got a bit ahead of myself. Thanks for taking a moment to call me out.
RE: Will Toy Story 3 be Universally Loved? Or Will it be the Godfather 3?
Ahhh yes, I did forget about Man on Wire. However, though not specifically stated, I was referring to major release movies. Its a lot easier for niche titles to be universally liked simply because a lot of people don't know about them. Still, good job of calling me out...to a degree.
RE: Panther's Steve Smith Breaks Arm Playing Flag Football
And on top of it all, he's just not a very nice guy, lets be honest.
RE: Voyage of the Dawn Treader Trailer (and Some Thoughts on the Narnia Series)
Great comments, everyone. To Doggles, that could make a lot of sense actually. I guess I don't know personally if this marks the first of the series shot in digital, but if it is, I would imagine that is it. However, I feel you're being overly negative about digital. Yes, it takes a little more work to essentially fake a film look, but many a great looking film have been done in digital such as Slumdog Millionaire, 28 Days Later, about half of Collateral, and Apocalypto. Maybe Fox just needs to try a little harder here. And it is a trailer so there is time for things to be polished and such.

To Genevieve, the final movies would make a nice couplet of beginning and end. Its yet another reason why I strongly prefer the original order.
